Dehumanization: The First Step Toward Anything

 0,00

What if cruelty didn’t begin with hatred, but with a word?

Cruelty does not begin with violence.
It begins with something smaller.
A word.
A gesture.
A silence that lets the first crack spread.

Before the camps, the massacres, the wars, there were metaphors.
“Pests”.
“Parasites”.
“Animals”.
Each one a rehearsal for what came next.

Dehumanization is not a relic of history.
It is a living habit.
In the way a patient becomes a “case”.
In the way a worker becomes a “resource”.
In the way strangers become “statistics”.

This course does not sensationalize.
It does not offer shock.
It invites attention.

Dehumanization: The First Step Toward Anything

Through slow reflection and layered storytelling, we will explore:

  • How ordinary language makes cruelty feel reasonable

  • How systems and procedures create moral distance

  • How violence reflects not only the victim, but the perpetrator

  • How everyday habits prepare the ground for atrocities

  • What fragile, deliberate acts of rehumanization require of us

This is not a call to fear.
It is a call to vigilance.
Because the first step toward anything is always how we see.
And every day, we choose whether to reduce or to recognize.

What You’ll Receive

  • A self-paced audio course (~90 minutes total)
Designed for listening. For walking, reflecting, or sitting with silence.
  • A Key Concepts PDF
A distillation of the ideas, mapped clearly and concisely.
  • A Reflection & Challenge Worksheet
Prompts to notice reduction, and to practice recognition.
  • An Afterthought
A closing reflection that lingers, rather than concludes.
  • Full permission to share it freely
No DRM. No accounts. No strings. If it helps someone, pass it on.

Pricing & Access

This course is available for free.

Some subjects are too urgent, too universal, to place behind a transaction.
Dehumanization is not an abstract theme; it is the air we breathe, the headlines we read, the habits we practice daily. To name it, to resist it, to unlearn it, should not depend on what someone can afford.

That is why this course is open to everyone, freely shareable, without restrictions.
No accounts. No barriers. No DRM. If it helps someone, pass it on.

Because vigilance against dehumanization is not a product.
It is a practice we owe each other.

This Course Is For You If…

  • You want to understand how cruelty begins before it becomes visible

  • You sense how language, systems, and habits shape what we allow

  • You are willing to reflect on your own complicity, not just “theirs”

  • You want to practice vigilance without cynicism, and empathy without naivety

This is not about blame.
It is about presence.
Not closure, but attention.

Because the ground is always being prepared.
And whether we notice or not, we are part of what grows there.
